Deskripsi Proyek
The facade of this building is a harmonious blend of Industrial Modernity and Local Heritage. The most striking feature is the extensive use of woven rattan panels, arranged in modular units with a sophisticated 3D geometric pattern. The rattan provides an organic texture that contrasts beautifully with the cool, exposed concrete walls and the sharp black steel frames. This woven element serves both an aesthetic and functional purpose, lending a strong tropical character to the modern residence.
Konsep Desain
This concept elevates traditional materials into high-end architectural elements through a contemporary approach.
• Elevating Tradition: By taking woven rattan—typically reserved for furniture—and utilizing it as a primary architectural facade, the design creates a dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and rigid modern forms.
• A "Breathing" Secondary Skin: The rattan weave acts as a functional secondary skin. Unlike solid panels, the intricate gaps in the weave allow for natural ventilation and filter sunlight into a soft, "dappled" effect, keeping the interior cool yet naturally lit.
• Textural Contrast (Organic vs Industrial): The design pits the warmth and softness of the rattan texture against the hardness of concrete and metal. This achieves a visual balance, preventing the building from feeling too sterile or cold.
• Shadow Play: During the day, the woven patterns project unique shadows into the living spaces. At night, internal lighting filters through the weave, highlighting the intricate details of the craftsmanship to the outside world.
